THE YCEO: Editor's Spotlight, Richard Briandt

Richard Brandt is the CEO of Codetrain Hub, a tech talent accelerator that offers practical skills training in software development to motivated Ghanaian youth and matches them to job opportunities.

Richard spoke at the Tech4Africa event in Nairobi about how African’s can build global companies and he is currently touring tertiary institutions with Bootcamps to mentor and train aspiring software developers.

Richard also recently opened the Codetrain Hub School branch in Kumasi in other to spread the tech skills opportunity to the people of Kumasi. The Purpose is to give a practical training in software development in other to match them to job opportunities.

His entrepreneurial journey and his interest bringing solutions to social problems took him to Chile after he was selected among 100 top new entrepreneurs in the Start-Up Chile Accelerator Program, one of the biggest of its kind in the world and while in Chile he gave lectures in several Universities to inspire young people to pursue entrepreneurship.

He has always been passionate about solving societal problems and while in school, his team won the World Youth Summit Award with with an innovative solution that aims at reducing maternal mortality in developing countries. Richard was part of the organising team of the Stanford VLAB event in Silicon Valley that brought investors, startups, mentors and academia together to discuss African tech.
